Playing Membership
The club actively encourages the participation and development of the sport of bowls by waiving membership for the first year. This is to ensure that prospective members are a customised to the club environment and have ample opportunity to participate and learn the fundamentals of the sport. Playing members contribute to the cost of the green via a playing levy.
Bowling can be competitive but its real appeal is the huge family atmosphere which exists throughout the bowling community. This is exemplified by the large number of inter-club friendly matches which provide the opportunity to share experience. Players compete in teams of four (known as a rink) coached by an experienced leader (skip) while receiving tutition and support from team mates and opponents alike !
Non-Playing Membership
This membership is open to former members who are unable to continue playing due to infirmity or those wishing to participate in social events. Contributions are used to maintain the building fund and pay for the utilities and other services. Members are encouraged to utilise the club for family, business and other events.
Garden Membership
Garden Membership is for those residents who wish to use the grounds of the club for relaxiation. The aim is to develop and enhance the facilities for local residents and visitors by providing a number of green areas with suitable seating and other furnishings. To support these projects , the club wishes to build relationships with environmental agencies and other suitable suppliers.
Junior Membership
Bowling is a family sport and we wish to encourage young members, particularly those under 14 to join and take an active part within the club. Youth development is sponsored by the Scottish Government Healthy living innitatives and include the development of participative sports within community settings. The club is particularly keen to hear from those working within community & continuing education sectors.
