Gardening Project
The aim of the gardening project is to regenerate those areas surrounding the green by recovering the land from invasive species like spirea douglasii and rhododendron. This has been particularly prevalent on the North triangle facing the clubhouse. This project was initiated by the author in July 2009 as a tribute to the memory of former members who donated considerable time and financial resources to maintain the gardens.
The vision is to provide a resource for residents, school children and disabled visitors which will allow them to relax and engage with the environment. The club is one of the largest green spaces outside the public parks and is located in the heart of Glasgow's West End.
Youth Project
If the club is to have a future , this project must succeed. The vision is to provide a platform where parents and young people are encouraged to try bowling as a social sport. We must build relationships with our schools and other community groups who recognition and appreciate the value of our open spaces for recreational pursuits. If you would like to join the project or have access to potential information or other resources, please contact the project.
Business Links project
The aim of the business links project is to attract potential business partners who would be willing to support the development of the club through social and other networking opportunities. The club requires to attract investment in order to upgrade and replace the existing infrastructure. This includes the clubhouse and other supporting utilities. If you are engaged within these sectors , please contact the project.
Community Project
The club wishes to develop relationships with community and residential groups within the Hillhead area. Previous groups have used the club premises for meetings, presentations and social networking events including Cheese and Wine parties, barbecues, family events and seasonal parties. The club has a number of open spaces which are ideally suited for open air events. Due to potential damage to green and clubhouse , ball games are not permitted. We do however encourage visitors to try the sport of bowling.
